If we get Obama and socialized health care, will he be forced to stop smoking? I believe a central tenet of all socialized healthcare schemes is that the subjects (oops I mean people) are forced to undergo regular checkups as mandated by the bureaucrats who know all, and make lifestyle changes to conform to the common good. Under this scenario, and of course after President Obama waits in line with all of the little people to get his checkup, will his bureaucratic health manager require that he stop smoking? |
Smoking tobacco, like smoking marijuana, is bad for your health, and subjects, I mean citizens, should be forced to stop under penalty of law.
Only our government can save us from ourselves.
Seat belts, motorcycle helmets, alcohol, smokes, etc.
In time, we will come for the fat people.
Remember, it's for YOUR OWN GOOD, right?
It's FOR THE CHILDREN.
It's FOR NATIONAL SECURITY.
It's FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.
Three good reasons to destroy freedom. |
How many early Dickensian smoking jackets can be forced inside a piglet? Sensible answers ONLY please. |
| zero this would hurt the piglet |
If I forced a smoker into not smoking cigarettes for a week, would they be cured from cigarettes? Lets say i strapped him into a chair for a whole week, would they be cured from their cigarette addiction? |
Unless a person wants to break an addiction, intervention such as you want to do will only make them increase their intake once they regain access to the substance that they are addicted to.
Smoking is not a habit, its an addition, a smoker can fool you into thinking that he or she has broken the addiction by using nicotine therapy. |
When did tobacco companies start their campaigns to prevent guy smoking? How were they encouraged/forced to? I'm trying to examine the protests/practices that lead a company to behave more responsibly. Please respond with any ideas or thoughts that could contribute to my research! |
It believe it may have been started after the Congressional hearings exposing a history of tobacco compainies marketing to guyren (Joe Camel etc.)
It was a PR initiative to try and improve their public image.
There was also a lawsuit against tobacco companies by state attorney generals. They were attempting to get money from the tobacco companies for Medicaid (the state health insurance program for the poor) costs spent on smokers. I don't think the campaign to prevent guyhood smoking was part of the settlement though. |
Should Native Americans be forced to pay healthcare bills for people suffering from lung cancer due to smoking? It was the Natives who introduced tobacco to the white man. |
we aren't the ones that put cancer causing chemicals in the tobacco.
and do you really want to open that can of worms where a race of people is held financially responsible for all the wrongs their race has done over the course of history? white people would be paying forever if that were the case. |
Forced second hand smoking, is it guy abuse? If a parent smokes in the car while a guy is in there is it guy abuse?
The guy is in there and can not leave and being forced to "second hand smoke" should there be laws to protect the guyren? |
| Definitely should be laws against this! No guy should have to breathe in second hand smoke- it's cruel. Parents with any sense wouldn't smoke around their guys. |
Do you consider forced passive smoking to be assault? Please don't bother to start on about 'Why don't you leave if you don't like it?' - there are countless instances where you cannot. Guyren strapped in a guy seat being one. |
I do consider it an assault, and this is one of the reasons why it is now against the law in many states to smoke in public places.
In some cases, I do have the choice to leave or stay. In others I don't.
I would just like to point out to smokers (not as an insult or a pointing of the finger), that some people, like myself, have health issues that require them to remain in a smoke free environment.
Most smokers that I know are pretty good about where they smoke. If they come to my home, they smoke outside. If I am at their home, well, it is their home and they should be free to smoke if they wish, in which case I might go out for a breath of fresh air.
It has been proven that second hand smoke can be as dangerous or more so than smoking itself.
All I ask for is a little consideration. |
Horrible experience at my friends house today! Drugs, police asking questions about rape, Forced smoking. Help? Sorry that this is long and that I suck at paragraphs but I really need help here! I need to help my friend and just don't know what to do at all!
I went to a friends house today, actually just got back, and It was Horrible! Heres what happened: I got into my friends car and met her mom for the first time. She was a little buzzed and cussed everyone on the road out. She had the worst driving ever! Im surprised we didn't wreck! When we got to her apartment her grandpa was talking to an investigator because my friend had had a boyfriend she thought was 17. They had sex and stuff together. Then they found out he was 20 and her grampa told the police. She still loved him until they looked at his comp and found guy pornography. Now hes in prison and my friend has to testify. So when he was done with the grandpa he asked my friend about what happened every day that she knew the guy. After that he questioned me (everyone that knew her when she was dating him has to testify to) And after telling him about a hundred times that I didn't know her until a month ago he took pictures of us all (IDK why me since Im no help) and he left. After that her mom got high and drank more while me and her went to the park and just talked about everything. When we got back to the house she got a cigarette out and was smoking and asked if I wanted one and I told her no, I don't smoke. She asked if I wanted to try it and I said no. Her mom screamed from the other room that I was a p*ssy if i didn't and that she should beat the crap out of me. Her mom scares me so I just put my mouth near it and pretended to take a puff. It actually got in my through and now that hurts. Luckily my mom got there right then so I got to go before the mom made me smoke whatever she was smoking. So that was horrible!!! My friend is a great person but this bothers me. She turned 14 on Sunday and all this is already happening?!?!? I want to be friends still but after all this IDK if I should or what. Im never going back to her house for sure! I also really want to help her with all this but the only way too is to tell guy services and I would wreck the entire family if I did that. I can tell she hates how her life is but I just cant do that to her. If anyone has any tips on what to do can you give them to me?
Also how can I get my throat to feel better? |
Honestly, nothing that happened was your fault or your friends fault.
Her boyfriend is obviously a pig and she shouldnt have anything to do with him. Besides that, She just turned 14. She doesnt need to be having sex with guys to make up for absent love at home.
Definitely NEVER go back to that house.
Perhaps if your comfortable with your parents, you might wanna try talking to them.
Your friend must be a wreck... Try to imagine being in her shoes. Dont stop talking to her because she has a crazy family, just chill with her some where else. She's probably used to people not being her friend or might be to embarassed to take people over her house. She needs a friend like you to be there for her. Shes so young and more than likely lost so many people. Give her the love her family doesnt, so she doesn't turn to boys and bring a guy into a situation like this.
You sound like a smart girl. Lean on your friend and get throuh this together.
P.S. As for your throat... Try drinking some tea :)
Best wishes to you and your friend. Stay Strong xoxo |
Would widespread drastic increases in "dining and dashing" be a good way to force smoking to be allowed again? ...In restaurants for example. |
| Maybe like not leaving a tip |
